Historic State Park The Barnacle
The Barnacle Historic State Park, which was established in 1891, offers a glimpse into frontier life in the Bay Era, when Miami could only be reached by ship. Ralph Middleton Munroe, an American boat designer, previously lived in this 5-acre coconut grove treasure, which is the oldest mansion still standing in Miami-Dade County (1891). There is a ton of captivating Spanish moss, too.

The oldest hotel in the neighborhood, Bay View Inn, is located on the grounds of Peacock Park, which has been there since 1883.

The Kampong, National Tropical Botanical Garden

The Kampong is the former residence of Dr. David Fairchild, the renowned botanical explorer who traveled throughout Southeast Asia and other tropical regions collecting exotic plants that he introduced to the United States. The Kampong is named after the Malay or Javanese word for a village or cluster of houses.
A cornucopia of exotic fruit, including candle fruit, peanut butter fruit, egg fruit, cocoplums, and more than 50 varieties of mango, can be found at Kampong Planting Heritage Collections, which have collections from Southeast Asia, Central and South Americas, the Caribbean, and other tropical regions. Many different types of flowering trees, cycads, and palms are being investigated by researchers from around the globe. The Kampong is a well-liked destination for plant aficionados of all ages and acts as the mainland site for the NTBG's educational programs. It also functions as a living classroom for botany and horticulture courses at universities and colleges.
David T. Kennedy Park
Locals travel to David T. Kennedy Park, with more than 20-acre with ever expanding views of Bayfront, green space, for exercise and enjoyment.
This park is a tranquil retreat with lovely trees, views of the ocean, and spacious lawn areas. A haven of lush vegetation, the David T. Kennedy Park features everything from grassland glades to coastal mangrove hammocks.

Your closest dog friend is sure to find the perfect location to romp with two separate play areas—one for the tiniest of dogs and other for larger ones.
